Attended by twelve participants, all with advanced knowledge of the field including two professors, the workshop featured lectures by Roads with many sound and video examples. Presentations by participants also highlighted their experiences. The event culminated in a concert of electronic music by Roads, featuring videos by his longtime artistic collaborator, Brian O’Reilly (LaSalle College of the Arts, Singapore). Roads then traveled to Bergen for another concert at the Lydgalleriet, an exhibition space for sound art with an extraordinary sound system.
Dr. Curtis Roads is Professor of Media Arts and Technology and Affiliated Faculty in Music, where he is also Associate Director of the Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE) at UCSB.
