Undergraduate bassoonist Claire Garvais will present a recital entitled "Basswoon 2: A Brazilian Times Better" on Sunday, May 20, 2018 at 7:30 pm in Karl Geiringer Hall. This Bachelor of Arts Senior Recital will feature a vibrant program of music from the New World by Brazilian composer Heitor Villa-Lobos, American composers Robert Muczynski and Gernot Wolfgang, and UCSB College of Creative Studies composers Preston Towers and Tristan Perez. Claire will be accompanied by 14 other UCSB musicians including Kathryn Carlson, Mikki Guererro, Sara Bashore, Adam Tedeschi, Ian Hay, Sylvie Tran, Lexie Callaway-Cole, Minsu Kim, Amy Winter, Olivia Langner, Sarah Evenson, Gregory Moreno, Jarod Fedele, and Zachary Erstad. 
 
Claire is a senior bassoonist at UCSB majoring in Music Studies and Global Studies. She is extremely inspired by Latin music with jazz influences. Claire believes music is always better with friends. This recital brings the music she loves and the musicians she loves together.
