Ensemble for Contemporary Music

Directed by Jeremy Haladyna, the UCSB Ensemble for Contemporary Music (ECM) will present its annual spring concert, entitled "The Concert that 'Went South,'" on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, at 4 p.m. in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall on the UCSB campus. The program charts its initial course with shiny signposts of the new, followed by aborigine-inspired music from "down under," forcing things to "head south" for a strange conclusion. Featured selections include Tristan Murail's "Feuilles à travers les cloches," Donald Erb's "The Rainbow Snake," Sofia Gubaidulina's "Im Croce," and Mikolaj (son of Henryk) Gorecki's "Overture"...these plus many fun surprises, in this season finale.
