The UCSB Wind Ensemble will present its annual spring concert on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. in Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall. The spring concert will once again be an “All Ticheli” event, with a program consisting entirely of compositions by Frank Ticheli, who will serve as guest conductor. Works on the program include Angels in the Architecture featuring graduate student Molly Clementz (mezzo soprano) as the “angel”; Dancing on Water highlighting the full ensemble; Blue Shades featuring a jazzy clarinet solo; Rest as a tribute to the victims, relatives, survivors, and witnesses of the 2014 Isla Vista Tragedy; Nitro conducted by graduate assistant Cynthia Vong; and “Song for Aaron” (movement 2) from the Clarinet Concerto, performed by Director Paul Bambach and conducted by the composer, Frank Ticheli.
Frank Ticheli's residency with the UCSB Wind Ensemble has been made possible by generous support from the Isabel Chissar Fund, the Department of Music, and the College of Creative Studies.
