The Department of Music hosted a special edition of the Through My Ears podcast via Instagram Live on Thursday, December 3, 2020 from 12-1 pm on the UC Santa Barbara Department of Music's Instagram account (@ucsbmusicdept). Mezzo-soprano Kelly Guerra, a Doctor of Musical Arts candidate studying with Associate Professor Dr. Isabel Bayrakdarian, hosted a Q&A session with Dr. Sarah Gibson, Assistant Teaching Professor of Music Composition in both the UC Santa Barbara Department of Music and the College of Creative Studies. Guerra and Gibson discussed Gibson’s #What2020SoundsLike project with her piano duo, HOCKET, and what it has been like performing and creating during the COVID-19 pandemic.
