Undergraduate cellist Katrina Agate will present a senior Bachelor of Music recital with pianist Dr. Natasha Kislenko (UCSB faculty member) on Saturday, May 18, 2019 at 4:30 pm in Karl Geiringer Hall in the Music Building. The program will include works by Joseph Haydn, Gaspar Cassadó, and Francis Poulenc. Ms. Agate is a student of UCSB faculty member Jennifer Kloetzel.

About the Artist

Katrina Agate, 22, began studying cello at age 9. She has studied with Andrew Cook, Janet Shulman, Ryan Sweeney, Clive Greensmith, Jacob Braun, and currently, Jennifer Kloetzel. She has participated in numerous masterclasses with teachers such as Yo-Yo Ma, Steven Isserlis, Alban Gerhardt, and Carter Brey. In the summer of 2015, she attended the Music Academy of the West's 8-week summer music festival program studying under David Geber and Alan Stepansky. Most recently, she received first place in the senior instrumental category of the PASF Scholarship Competition. This summer, Katrina will be performing at the Kotor Arts music festival in Montenegro on full scholarship as the UCSB representative. She currently studies Electrical Engineering and Cello Performance at the University of California, Santa Barbara where she is a recipient of the UC Regents Scholarship.  Starting in the fall, she will attend UCSD as a graduate student in Electrical Engineering.
