About the Artist

Tommy Kan is an undergraduate student from Hong Kong, currently majoring in Music Studies and Psychology. He has been studying piano with Dr. Charles Asche since 2017. The current year being Kan’s final year at UCSB, he is currently working on his thesis on the relationship between working memory and time perception in the Psychological and Brain Sciences Department, while also working in the UCSB Music Cognition Lab. Kan plans to continue his practice on piano performance while conducting research on music cognition, as the two studies are mutually beneficial.
