Bio
Professor Prizer is the author of books and editions of early music, and of more than thirty-five articles that appeared in scholarly journals, collections of essays, and the reports of congresses. He has written on Renaissance music at north-Italian courts, Florence, and Rome, as well as on gender issues. He also established the importance of the Order of the Golden Fleece as a major patron of sacred music in the Low Countries in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries. He served on several committees of the society and was Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of the American Musicological Society from 1987-1991.
