Bio
Jessica Guideri is a Juilliard-trained violinist, educator, and recording artist whose
career spans major orchestral, chamber, solo, and studio work. She joins the faculty at
UC Santa Barbara as Assistant Professor of Violin, bringing a dynamic vision for
cultivating expressive, versatile, and professionally prepared musicians.
Guideri currently serves as Concertmaster of the Santa Barbara Symphony. Her
extensive orchestral experience also includes leadership positions with the Los Angeles
Opera Orchestra (Associate Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin), Pacific
Symphony, and Phoenix Symphony, and she performs regularly with the Los Angeles
Philharmonic and the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra. As a soloist, she has performed
repertoire ranging from Mozart and Beethoven to Brahms and John Williams, and has
performed alongside notable artists including Anne Akiko Meyers.
A passionate chamber musician, Guideri has performed with ensembles and series
across the country, including Chamber Music Unbound, Jacaranda Music, and Music
Above the Clouds, a Southern California concert series she co-founded. She was a
member of the Fry Street Quartet during its residency at Utah State University, touring
nationally and internationally.
As a recording artist, Guideri has contributed to more than 500 film, television, and
video game soundtracks. She can be heard in Oppenheimer, Encanto, La La Land,
Frozen 2, Avatar: The Way of Water, The Mandalorian, The Handmaid’s Tale, and many
other major productions. Her work in the studio reflects the versatility, precision, and
creativity she brings to every musical setting.
Guideri has taught at San Diego State University, Utah State University, the Eastern
Music Festival, and the Center for Preparatory Studies in Music at Queens College,
working with students at all levels of advancement. Her teaching emphasizes tone
production, interpretive depth, and artistic individuality, while also preparing students to
connect with diverse audiences and pursue a wide range of professional opportunities.
At UCSB, Guideri’s goal is to help each student develop a distinct musical voice and the
tools to thrive in today’s multifaceted musical landscape.
