Liuyang Tan is a composer and Ph.D. student in music composition at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where he studies with Professor João Pedro Oliveira. He received his Master of Fine Arts in electronic music composition from the Sichuan Conservatory of Music under Professor Lu Minjie, and his Bachelor of Arts in recording arts from the same institution.
His research focuses on intermedia approaches to electronic music, exploring the narrative potential of multichannel sound spaces and the integration of sound with visual media. His works have been presented at international conferences and festivals. He is a recipient of the China National Scholarship and the Sichuan Conservatory Outstanding Graduate.
