Bio
Dr. Michael Vitalino is an Associate Professor of Music Theory at the Crane School of Music, SUNY Potsdam. His dissertation examined the songs of Franz Liszt to identify relationships between Liszt's revisions and establish a new taxonomy for their classification via Schenkerian techniques. Michael has presented at ABLE Assembly: Arts Better the Lives of Everyone (2020), SMT Music and Disability Interest Group (2019), Sydney Conservatorium of Music (2018), Centro Luigi Boccherini (2017), Music Theory Society of New York State (2016), Society of Music Theory (2015), Music Theory Society of the Mid-Atlantic (2013), and the West Coast Conference of Music Theory and Analysis (2011). His publications include articles in Indiana Theory Review and Notes, and a forthcoming chapter in Nostalgia and Video Game Music: Hearing our Past in the Present (Intellect Books). He previously taught at Scripps College and served on the 2017 MTSNYS program committee.
