Bio
Lucía Álvarez Núñez, a pianist originally from Spain, was until 2017 based in London where she performed in venues such as Wigmore Hall, Old Royal Naval College, Blackheath Halls, and St. Bride's. Her performing career takes her back frequently to Spain where she's played in venues like Palacio de la Opera, Teatro Jofre, or the music festival Musica en el Claustro. Lucía gained her Bachelor of Music in A Coruña, Spain under Julio Mourenza before moving to London to study at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance. There she obtained her Master's degree under Martino Tirimo and continued her piano studies with Mikhail Kazakevich. After this, she relocated to the United States where she attended the Jacobs School of Music at Indiana University. At Indiana University she studied with pianist Roberto Plano and obtained a Performance Diploma. Lucía is currently pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts at UC Santa Barbara as a student of Professor Paul Berkowitz.
