The Music Building is a two-wing, three-story complex of teaching studios, classrooms, practice rooms, Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall, Karl Geiringer Hall, and a chamber music hall. Outstanding resources include Hamburg and New York Steinway grand pianos, a state-of-the-art Music Laboratory, and the Center for Research in Electronic Art Technology (CREATE)

For facility rental information for campus, general public, or interdepartmental bookings, please contact the Production and Events Manager. The number of crew members needed for each event depends on the size, type of event, and room rented. The Department of Music can assist with staffing your event.

Please note that student and faculty organizations or departments are not subject to the facility fee, only equipment and labor as applicable.

Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall has a capacity of approximately 460 people. It is ideal for anything from a movie or film presentation, dance, concert, or full theatrical performance. The venue has a full stage with orchestra pit, dressing/green rooms, costume storage and fabrications shop, loading dock, lobby, and abundant backstage space for any production both amateur or professional. The rental fee is $350 for up to 4 hours and $600 for more than 4 hours. Additional equipment including piano, percussion, other instrumentations, lighting, sound, set, video, and projection upon request. LLCH is also capable of video and audio streaming and recording. Stage technicians and ushers are required for all events at a rate of $20 per hour, based on the needs of the production and determined by the Production and Events Manager. UCSB Chamber Orchestra on Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall stage

 

Karl Geiringer Hall has a capacity of approximately 100 people and is suitable for small concerts and recitals. The venue includes a personal or a group greenroom based on the size of the performance group. The base facility rental fee is $200 for up to 4 hours and $300 for more than four hours. Additional fees apply for piano(s), instruments, sound, lighting, video, or recording equipment. All additional technicians and users are charger at $20 per hour and their need is determined by the Production and Events Manager. UCSB Jazz Combos performing in Karl Geiringer Hall

Room 1145 has a capacity of approximately 135 people and is suitable for concerts, recitals, and lectures. Room 1145 is equipped with a projection system capable of stereo audio playback. The base rental fee is $200 for up to 4 hours and $300 for more than four hours. Additional video or audio needs including piano, instruments, or PA for small ensembles available upon request. A stage technician or monitor is required for all events and can be hired for $20 per hour based on the needs of the event determined by the Production and Events Manager. UCSB Son Jarocho Ensemble in Room 1145

 

The Music Bowl is an intimate outdoor amphitheater within the Department of Music facility and is suitable for concerts, recitals, or general gatherings. Catering is allowed. The venue has no permanent technical equipment, but it may be added upon request for additional chargers. The rental fee is $150 for up to 4 hours and $250 for more than four hours.
