Bio

Neil Garber, double bass, has performed with numerous orchestras throughout the country including the Los Angeles Opera, New York Symphony, New York City Opera, Opera Orchestra of New York, Philharmonia Virtuosi of New York, American Symphony Orchestra, Long Beach Symphony, Royal Ballet of London, Kirov Ballet, Martha Graham Dance Company, New West Symphony, Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra, Santa Barbara Grand Opera, Pasadena Symphony, and many others. He has performed in the orchestras of numerous Broadway productions including Sweeney Todd, Grand Hotel, A Chorus Line, Phantom of the Opera and Woman of the Year. He is also active as a freelance artist participating in numerous recordings and film scores. He has the Master of Music and Bachelor of Music degrees from the Juilliard School of Music where he studied with Homer R. Mensch as the recipient of the George C. Schirmer Scholarship. Mr. Garber is a Lecturer in Music at UCSB, and also serves on the faculties at Santa Barbara City College and California Lutheran College.
